CEC Awarded Top Marks for Environment and Quality
Leading southwest environmental specialists, Cornwall Environmental Consultants, are celebrating success at being awarded both international business standards ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
The team of ecologists and landscape architects wowed their assessors by demonstrating their commitment to delivering quality work and reducing their environmental footprint, going as far as being one of the first businesses in Cornwall with a strategy to become carbon neutral.
Director Phil Hills commented:
“We work hard to build and maintain the systems necessary to meet these standards. It’s not always easy but it pays dividends – most of our work is repeat business from satisfied clients and more than 90% of our customer feedback is overwhelmingly positive. Our staff embrace the need to deliver a quality service and will go the extra mile when it’s needed.”
Administrator Clare Hedges added:
“Reducing our environmental impact is key to our ongoing success – we try to practice what we preach. We measure all our business travel, use of energy and other resources so we can see how much carbon we are generating and where there is room to improve. We have even introduced a staff allotment and compost all our kitchen waste.”
ISO 9001 requires organisations to demonstrate that they do what they say they do and that they have a quality management system in place to ensure consistency and improvement, leading to high levels of performance and customer satisfaction.
ISO 14001 requires organisations to have an environmental policy and action plan to manage their impact on their environment. For both standards certified organisations are committed to continuous improvement and are assessed annually to ensure progress is being maintained.
