LVIA Seminar – Assessing Landscape and Visual Issues: theory, reality and good practice
Cornwall Environmental Consultants invite you to a knowledge sharing seminar, supported by The Landscape Institute South West Branch and the RTPI SW. Places are limited and attendance must be booked, download booking form here.
A series of sessions will be held across the South West during November aimed at increasing understanding amongst planning officers, consultants, Members and developers of the principles, process and value of landscape and visual assessment, and why it should be carried out and evaluated by appropriately qualified professionals. They will also provide a summary of good practice references and the level of detail considered appropriate for various scales and types of development.
The seminars will be delivered by one of CEC’s Chartered Landscape Architects who is also an experienced L&V assessor, and will be followed by open floor discussion of the various issues involved. Lunch will be provided along with the opportunity to meet and catch up with fellow planners in your area.
Dates and venues are as follows, click on an entry to download a flyer with more details:

Staff at both the Genesis Centre in Taunton and Devon Wildlife Trust’s HQ in Exeter will be hosting a guided tour of the venues after lunch, both of which feature a number of ‘green’ building techniques and external design elements. This is a great opportunity to see sustainable restoration and construction in practice and ask the users of the buildings what they’re really like to work in and maintain.
A small charge of £15 will be made to cover costs with any surplus donated to the local Wildlife Trust. Payment can be made by cheque, payable to ‘Cornwall Environmental Consultants’ or via BACS using the details on the booking form.
To reserve a place please return your completed booking form (download here) and payment to CEC, Five Acres, Allet, Truro TR4 9DJ or email it to firstname.lastname@example.org , which is also the address for more information. Please do not contact the venues directly as all bookings are being dealt with by CEC.
