Trevassack Hill, Hayle
Trevassack Hill in Hayle is a proposed housing development of 148 dwellings. To support a planning application CEC undertook the ecological survey and the tree survey, and then delivered the landscape design for front gardens, external areas and a public open space. The soft landscape included detailed planting plans of tree planting, boundary treatments and low maintenance ornamental planting. A detailed drawing was also produced for the Public Open Space, which included a small Playground.
The exposed location of the site had to be taken into account especially in regards to the species choice of trees. Front gardens were designed to suit each house type with either low maintenance herbaceous planting schemes or low hedgerows with amenity grass. The concept was to create a planting scheme which is aesthetically pleasant for the new residents but low maintenance and in keeping with the qualities of local area and surrounding landscape. To demonstrate that establishment and maintenance had been planned for, CEC also produced a maintenance plan document, covering a period of 24 months from implementation.
