Farm Wetland Project
This project was delivered as part of the Cornwall Wildlife Trusts conservation project to encourage wildlife and improve river quality in a heavily farmed landscape of the East Looe Valley.
A series of farms in the Looe River catchment area has been visited on a very rainy day which indicated the run-off from the farms entering the river with polluted water. On site different potions of installations were discussed with the client to minimise pollution. Existing wildlife gems such as marshy grassland and hedgerows are to be retained whilst additional infrastructure provides opportunities for different species to colonise.
Scaled sketch designs were produced by CEC for each farm indicating which are primarily focusing on reducing the water-flow and therefore minimising pollution of the river.
