Often when planning is granted, conditions will be set, which may include ecological requirements such as detailed Ecological Mitigation and Management Plans, or that licences are obtained prior to the commencement of works.

These conditions will often require the input of an ecologist. At CEC, we have a team of ecologists with extensive experience in ecological monitoring and mitigation covering Cornwall, Devon and the rest of the Southwest.

The level of input required will vary from project to project, but may include:

  • Obtaining licences for disturbance to species (e.g. bats)
  • Updating ecological survey prior to start of construction
  • Advising on project programme to minimise impacts on wildlife (e.g. nesting birds)
  • Advising on BREEAM credits (if not done prior to planning, or in response to small changes in design)
  • Watching briefs and/or supervision during work in sensitive parts of a site (e.g. vegetation clearance)

We aim to maintain continuity, so a project manager will follow your project for as long as you need our input. This will benefit you, as the project manager will be familiar with the site, so require less time to familiarise with the project.

If you require any further information please call us on 01872 245510 or contact us to discuss your project and requirements.
