Coosebean Cycle Route, Truro, Cornwall – Tree Survey and Assessment
CEC Ltd were commissioned in May 2010 to provide a survey of the trees within and alongside the corridor of a proposed cycle route running north of the A390 near Coosebean, Truro, Cornwall. The survey was to inform the planning of the route and to determine tree removal requirements and areas requiring method statements and further design work. The site survey was carried out during May 2010 by Evolve Tree Consultancy and the most significant trees were tagged for easy identification later on. The survey and assessment was tailored to the needs of the project and did not follow the BS5837:2005 methodology.
The site comprises of a wooded valley running west from Coosebean and to the north of the Malabar area of Truro. It comprises mixed species woodland native in character and typical of the wooded valleys of the local area. Survey results were used to tweak the route alignment in areas with mature trees.
