Assistant Ecologist – (Ecological Clerk of Works)
Cornwall Environmental Consultants (CEC) Ltd are seeking a temporary full time Assistant Ecologist to join our team based near Truro, Cornwall. The appointment will be for a period of 12 months, subject to a 6 month probationary period, with potential for a permanent role afterwards.
Are you someone with a passion for ecology, a self-motivated individual, able to work alone or as part of a team? Are you happy to work outdoors, assisting with the delivery of a large scale infrastructure project? If so we would like to hear from you.
You will have some experience working in the field of ecology (ideally in a commercial consultancy), hold a BSc or MSc in Ecology (or related subject) and be a qualifying or associate membership of CIEEM (QCIEEM or ACIEEM).
Watching brief / Ecological Clerk of Works experience would be highly advantageous. You will need excellent communication and organisational skills.
Evidence of actively working towards one or more protected species licences is desirable but not essential.
A full driver’s licence, and use of a vehicle insured for personal business use is essential for this post and you will be willing to travel across the south west.
The successful applicant will be flexible with regard to working hours, as site based hours (07.30-17.30 are required). The role will primarily be based on our client’s construction site, and a degree of remote working is expected.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
